Composite Decking Kits Only Available At Tough Decking - All Boards & Fixing Clips Included

Our composite decking kits come in four sizes and start at £234.99 including VAT for the 4m² kit, with every fixing and a drill bit in the box. The 10m² kit is £535.99, the 20m² is £959.99 and the 40m² is £1,729.99. To find your size, measure the deck, multiply length by width for the area in square metres, add about 10% for cuts, then order the kit that covers it. A 3m by 3m deck is 9m² and takes the 10m² kit. Delivery is free to Zone 1 and local addresses on every kit, and free across most of the mainland on the larger ones, so there is no pallet charge to add on afterwards.

People shop for a decking kit by the size of the deck they want, a 3 by 3, a 4 by 3, a 4 by 4, and then try to work out what it costs. It is a sensible way to do it, so here are our kit sizes and prices, how to match one to your garden, and why the delivery matters more than you might think when you are comparing suppliers.

Composite decking kit prices

We sell the kits in square metre bundles rather than by the board, because it works out cheaper and there is nothing left for you to forget. Every kit includes the boards, the hidden fixing clips, the screws and a PZ drill bit. There is a full range of sizes on the dropdown, and here are some of the most popular:

Kit sizeExample deck it suitsPrice inc VATPrice ex VAT
4m² kitA small deck around 2m x 2m£234.99£195.83
10m² kitAround 3m x 3m£535.99£446.66
20m² kitAround 4m x 4m£959.99£799.99
40m² kitA large deck around 7m x 5m£1,729.99£1,441.66

Prices are correct at the time of writing, and the kit page always shows the live figure. You choose your colour and clip type there too.

Working out what size you need

Start with a tape measure. Multiply the length of your deck by the width to get the area in square metres. A 3m by 3m deck is 9m². A 4m by 3m is 12m². A 4m by 4m is 16m². Then add roughly 10% for off-cuts, a bit more if the deck is an awkward shape or the boards run on the diagonal, and round up to the kit size that covers it. The kits come in a good range of sizes on the dropdown, so you can get close to your area without a lot left over.

2m x 2mabout 4.5m²4m² kit£234.99
3m x 3mabout 10m²10m² kit£535.99

4m x 4mabout 18m²20m² kit£959.99
5m x 4mabout 22m²24m² kit£[24m² price]

A plain square deck wastes very little, so the 4m² kit covers a straight 2m by 2m. For anything in between, round up to the nearest kit that covers your area, which usually leaves you with a board or two spare rather than a whole stack. If your deck is not a neat rectangle, or you are not sure which size to pick, send us your measurements and we will work out the best kit to cover it.

Delivery is part of the price

This is where a kit really earns its keep, and it is worth checking against other suppliers before you decide. On every kit, delivery is free to Zone 1 and to local Torbay addresses, right down to the 4m² kit. Across most of the rest of mainland UK, kit delivery is free once your order is over £1,200 plus VAT, which the larger kits pass comfortably. A lot of suppliers quote a low board price and then add a pallet charge at the checkout, so when you compare quotes, add the delivery in before you judge them. With us, fast delivery in 2 to 3 working days is included, not an extra. You can check the exact cost for your postcode on our delivery page.

Why a kit works out cheaper

Buy the parts separately and it is easy to under-order the clips or grab the wrong screws, then pay another delivery charge to put it right. The kit is priced as a bundle to save you money on the boards, and the fixings come in for free, so the whole deck turns up in one go ready to fit. For a straightforward square or rectangular deck it is the easiest and cheapest way to buy.

What about odd shapes and bigger jobs?

The kits suit square and rectangular decks best. For an L-shape, a wrap-around, or anything with a lot of angles, it is often better to work out the exact board count and order the composite decking boards and fixings to suit. If you are not sure which way to go, use the calculator on the kit page, or give us a call with your measurements and we will price it up.
